ASTRA THE WEIRDING (2009)

Anyone enjoying this recent release from this fascinating SAN DIEGO band as much as I am?

Excellent atmospheric prog-psych - to my ears sounds like Meddle-era Floyd and Agitation Free deciding to collaborate on a re-writing of the better instrumental moments from Tales from Topographic Oceans.

Fantastic Guitar-keyboard interplay and dripping in feverish Mellotron

the best new prog-inclined act since The Mars Volta to my mind

mandrake2

Keep it Prog

What a great Album. Was amaized it was a 2009 release as it truley sounds 70's.
Mainly down to extensive mellotron, moog and Arp. Very King Crimson.
should be in any prog fans collection

Very good choice, great prog psych.Yes influence is clearly felt, moreover Lee Dorrian's Rise above is a great label for vintage sounds.Great artwork by Arik Roper.
