Currently listening to the 2002 self-titled debut of this band.  The founder used to be in Neutral Milk Hotel.  Very odd but cool stuff.  Folk music meets Lumpy Gravy.

Anyone else heard 'em?  Worth exploring further?

This is a band I need to check out still. As far as those Balkan-folk influenced indie groups, I took a liking to Beirut right away and I kinda forgot about these guys.

I just heard these guys lately and I loved them. I too found out because of the Neutral Milk Hotel connection, but I wouldn't pigeonhole them with "balkan influenced indie groups", I would say their sound transcends many of the trappings of that "indie" genre, and perhaps because they moved to Hungary for a while and immersed themselves in the culture, I think they have more of an authenticity to their sound than other groups attempting the same thing, though I do love Beirut too.
Plus, as an accordionist, I'm kind of biased towards anyone that uses one.
