I recently got their album "Utopia" and i am very impressed by their work. You can hear a big influence from Iron Maiden, but they evolved their very own style.
I am surprised that they are not listed here on PA.

I thought that they would have been more like Heavy Prog? They remind me an awful lot of RUSH.

Well if you look at the list of artists currently being evaluated for the three metal genres I think itīs self-explanatory why it takes so long: http://progfreak.com/go/home/progarchives?path=pm/nw&block=2 - http://progfreak.com/go/home/progarchives?path=pm/nw&block=2 . Thatīs one explanation. The second IMO is that they are not chief-written for progressive metal. They are not the most progressive act Iīve heard. Enough for me to vote yes ( which I did before seing this thread), but itīs a small yes. I donīt know what the other four members of the Team think of Heart of Cygnus, but right now they need three yes votes to be cleared.

If you look at the cleared list with bands that are just waiting to be added to PA it makes even more sense: http://progfreak.com/home/progarchives?path=pm/cleared - http://progfreak.com/home/progarchives?path=pm/cleared . All these acts need a bio ( not a copy/ paste one), a picture and album info before they are added. Now thatīs a lot of work.

If youīre interested in writing a bio if/ when Heart of Cygnus is cleared Iīll try and remember to ask you. That way they are added quicker.

I have an idea: I'll change the charts so that bands which currently have a new album out are highlighted. I think we can all agree that those should be processed ahead of the others ... Smile

I'm curious (and please don't take this as criticism): Are you using the artist highlighting in the team charts? Considering that it took about half a year to clear the band, my assumption would be that you didn't prioritize them based on the fact that they released an album last year.

BTW: Great band, and I strongly recommend their recently released EP.

For what it's worth, Mike, I happen to find that feature helpful.

Thanks. Smile But maybe we can improve it a little bit so that genre teams can make better use for it. For example, I could change the genre charts so that priority artists would be listed at the top. But before I do that, I would like to know if the genre teams agree with it.

I think you should make a thread in the collab zone and ask that question Mike. Thereīs a much better chance that all teams using the charts can speak their opinion. In regards to Heart of Cygnus and the slow process of getting them cleared, the PMT have had a number of challenges in the last couple of months that have slowed down the evaluation process + we at the moment have close to 300 acts under evaluation and I think most team collabs ( and former ones like yourself) understand how large a task that is. I think I have a couple of ideas if you make that thread in the collab zone.

Unfortunately, Mike stepped down as a collab so he can't post in the collab zone..

Oh, well then maybe in another more public thread where thereīs a chance more genre teams will see it.
