Which Google keywords do I use to get to ProgArchives AS THE FIRST RESULT?

I've been experimenting a bit, by far I have found this combination to be the fastest:

Albums: "<artist name> <album name> review mp3 "

Bands: "<artist name> progarchive"

Examples:

"cynic focus review mp3" without quotes, the first search result will be PA's page for this album.

"ayreon progarchive" without quotes, the first search result will be PA's page for this band.

Note that

1. It is faster to type progarchive (without the letter s at the end), and the result is the same.

2. You can also click "I'm feeling lucky" to save even more time.

3. Maybe you can use iGoogle to set your preferences, in order to make Progarchives automatically the first search result everytime. But I don't think it's as convenient as my method.

The fasted, and the one guaranteed to get PA as every result is:

site:www.progarchives.com <whatever you are looking for>

NO, you would have to type 25 characters, much slower than my methods.

... or you could just use the google search within PA.

with certain obscure prog, just the name of the artist is enough to get the PA listing first, like for Automatic Fine Tuning

Yep, this.

Still, Bob's solution is the way to go. The site includes many words that are picked up by Google, but they have their own magic to determine what shows up first in the search results on the main Google page.

hi, i just did my own PA seach engine for Firefox. so you can just enter the search term (i.e. band name, album title, PA members, etc.) into the search box next to the address bar.

it's a DIY yhing so you can do so yourself.

1. copy the following code to your notepad or textedit program

<search
name="ProgArchives"
method="GET"
action="http://www.google.com/search"
queryCharset="utf-8"
>
<input name="q" user>
<input name="sitesearch" value="progarchives.com">
<input name="hl" value="en">
</search>

2. save the file as PA.src. Notepad will add txt extension, but you can rename the file and simply remove .txt.

3. save this file in the following location C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins (this may vary, but it's usually there.)

4.Either ask the admin for the PA icon image (it's the one on the address bar) or make one yourself. The file needs to have the same name as src file (i.e. pa) and can either be a gif or a png. Make sure the file size is 16x16 pixels. Save this in the same folder as above.

5. restart your firefox. It's gonna be there.

hope this helps.
