Edward Macan, who is a rather well-known progressive rock scholar who has written books on the subject, is also the leader of a progressive rock/jazz rock band consisting mostly of his students. I am not really familar with the band, but from what I have read I believe that they would fit in our jazz rock/fusion category. Here is a link to their website and MySpace page which both have some streaming music. The search function did not reveal that they have been suggested before, so here is a suggestion.

I wouls have suggested them for Crossover/Eclectic myself. Though their first album is all sorts of jazzy. ------------- Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

| Well, I think he should be in Symphonic. Although his first record is more ecclectic in style and influences, the other two records are clearly swmphonic rock: in fact, both contain a long suite. Furthermore, his music is much more inspired on Keith emerson (there´s a Tarkus cover on piano solo) than on jazz, although you can feel its influence from time to time. |

I think Symph or Eclectic (with a symph slant) based on what I've heard. Shame it's not that impressive (and cheesy). Some nice music in the mix, though.
