I heard some songs of Amon Düül II today (The two streams on their PA artist page and some vids), and I really liked what I've heard.
I'm wanting to get some of their music soon, but I've got no idea where to begin, as many of their albums have pretty equal ratings. I'm not looking for some specific kind of their music, but I have to say that I really enjoy Renate Knaup's vocals and the experimental music.
I'd appreciate some recommendations!

I don't have Wolf City yet, but out of their first three albums I think Yeti is my favorite, though Tanz der Lemminge is growing on me quite a lot lately. I'd suggest either starting with Yeti or Phallus Dei, though.

Usually, the first period (1969-1974) is the most recommended. Yet, "Phallus Deï" (1969) may be scare the newcomer. Maybe the quieter "Trance" (1974) or "Wolf City" (1973) can have a positive impact on people used to psychaedelic folk. But, since I'm hardcore (), I would recommend "Phallus Deï".
Only one advice: don't listen at this record in the middle of night, when you're alone in the big house....
Or do.

Yeti and Tanz der Lemminge are the best albums to start with.

Wolf city is the album with couple of tracks where Renate has the lead vocals and it's a bit more easy to digest than the first 3 (Phalus dei, Yeti, TDL) so for those 2 reasons I advise you to start with that album. After that take any of the 4 that was released before Wolf city, they are all great. My personal favorite is Phalus dei but I can not guess what will be yours.

Yeti or Wolf City. The best starting points with ADII, IMO.

Thanks for all the recommendations, guys!
Yeti obviously is the one that's recommended most so I decided to get that... Unfortunately the record store didn't have any Amon Düül II album at all. Then I decided to order it on the internet, but the delivery would take three to four weeks.
So, I ordered Wolf City, which will arrive in a bit less than a week.

I own Phallus Dei, Yeti, Wolf City, Tanz Der Lemminge, and Hijack, but I think the first two are both excellent starting points.
