Part pop-ish, but they do integrate some progressive elements in their musicianship and composition structure, this band at times sounds like Faith No More and at others, with the aid of a range of instruments they veer towards a fusion sound, but all the while maintaining a (rather heavy) rock basis.
A very fun and engaging band from Canada.
Their myspace bio:

About The Living Formed in Canada in 2006, The Living is a collection of highly skilled musicians brought together by the combination of their classical training and their mutual passion for artistic exploration. The band's evocative name reflects the diversity of styles present in their music, as well as their desire to push boundaries and to continually grow.

The Living is known for their ability to blend several genres seamlessly into a single song. Indeed, the band takes much of its influence from classical composers such as Stravinsky and Ravel, rockers Queen and Muse, world artists like Ozomatli and Shakti, and progressive visionaries The Mars Volta, Björk, and Mike Patton, among many others.

The result: Violin fireworks. Primal rhythms. Tripped-out lyrics and sound textures. In short, an epic sonic experience.
