Opeth will do a number of concerts to celebrate their 20th Anniversary.
They will be playing the entire Blackwater Park followed by a big selection from the other albums!

6 gigs are planned around the Easter weekend: Stockholm, Essen, Paris, London, NYC and LA.
It's almost sold out so hurry up. I'll be at the London gig!

No Chicago? LAME. No excuse!

I agree; no Chicago = LAME. However, since Blackwater park is a phenomenal album, I am excited about whatever live releases may result from this extra pretentious 20th anniversary trendy-city-exclusive mini-tour.

Yes it's a bit exclusive...
Especially since they will spend the best of the coming 3 months rehearsing, I would expect them to capitalize on it a bit more, but I guess they didn't want to get too involved in touring. Lazy bums!

I might go at the Paris show, I hope that by the time that I find out if I really can, they still have tickets. Ermm

If I were you I'd buy the tickets as fast as I can, and if I couldn't go after all, sell them to someone else Smile

The Stockholm show was pretty tempting, but I decided to pass. I'm sure I'll regret at some point.

Stockholm is the closest to where I live but still 521.68 kilometers from Copenhagen so I´ll pass too. Too bad they didn´t chose Malmö instead ( saw Opeth there about a year ago)

Well we're freaks. We saw them twice last year, once in Brussels and another time in NYC on our honeymoon. Romantic Smile
Now we'll see them on a London trip which we were planning for anyway.

Stockholm, Sweden sounds just fine by me! LOL
Too bad that they chose Cirkus as their arena. I've seen them recently during the Prog Nation 2009 tour when the band played at Hovet. It was a really nice surprise to hear them perform White ClusterClap

There's still tickets for the London show.
Just got mine and looking forward to it!
My expectations are extremely high.

I'm just wondering though. I've never been to the Royal Albert Hall in London before. (From Belgium you see)
My tickets have a row and seat number. If we're actually gonna be seated it's gonna be a pretty weird Opeth gig. Confused Does anybody know for sure if it's gonna be standing or seated?

Reason I'm asking is because I bought a ticket for my girlfriend separately later on, as she wanted to make a small city-trip from all of this. But she's not into Opeth (or metal) at all. Would kind of suck for her is she'd be seated by herself then.

Saw the show last night at The Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, CA USA. I was speechless. It was one of the best concerts I've seen in the last 20 years. Was as a defining a tour for their generation and genre as was Genesis, Crimson, Camel, PFM, Yes, Pink Floyd was in the 70's at their peak. Unforgettable!

I can second that about the London show, absolutely amazing. They have been filming it so I hope it will be released in it's entity on DVD.
Highlights for me were Harvest, Harlequin Forest and April Ethereal.
