The concert set-list is awesome. Even if The Incident sounded 100% opposite to my expectations, I loved the concert, and after that, when I got to listen to the album, it made sense and I loved it. Anyway, even if you'd still hate The Incident half, you'd love the concert as a whole because of the second half.

Surprise. No closer than Chicago again. Well, I got to see them at their only show in Kansas City ever, so I guess that's something. Plus, it was touring a much better album than they are now. Smile

Can't wait for the Royal Albert Hall gig - nearly sold out already btw! Saw them last year, they were great. The Incident, which as an album is miles better than the disjointed mess that FAOBP, sounds even better live.
My only gripe is that they do nothing pre 2000, as my fave album by them still is The Sky Moves Sideways. Still, you can't blame SW for playing the stuff that finally seems to have broken them world-wide! :)

Beware of the flowers, cos they're gonna get you yet!

I definitely agree with that; a live performance, something like the Coma Divine live album, of pre-Stupid Dream Porcupine Tree would be mind altering. I'll take what I can get though

More from their MySpace:

The band will be playing the Tampa Theater, Florida on April 25th - ticket information will follow on. Meanwhile PT will be crossing the border into Canada where they will be visiting Capitole Du Quebec, Quebec City Thursday 6th May, Place De Arts in Montreal on Friday 7th May and the Sound Academy, Toronto, Ontario on Saturday 8th May. More details as we get them.

Speaking of Canada, Rush’s Neil Peart has been musing on music and PT. “I went to see a band called Porcupine Tree not long ago. And I was talking with (singer-guitarist) Steven Wilson. They just put out a 55- minute piece. That's a finger to the whole iTunes shuffle thing, and he intended it as such. And I thought, 'Yeah, that's another way of rebelling against it -- by just saying no.' There's too much lost in giving up the integrity of an album -- what it represents to you as a musician, and as a human being, for that matter. So I like that approach.” You can read the whole interview http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnJ1c2hpc2FiYW5kLmNvbS9kaXNwbGF5LnBocD9pZD0yMDcw - here .

I'm seeing them in Atlanta April 27th. I don't mind The Incident, but I too wish they would play more material from the Sky Moves Sideways and Signify albums. As long as I hear Lazarus and Trains, though, it's all good! Big smile
