Nucleus was a fantastic jazz-rock band with great musicians that in the first half of the 70's released a series of excellent albums; the first two releases are true masterpieces of prog-fusion.

I haven't heard enough to vote, but I love We'll Talk About It Later (which would get my vote from what little I know) and Elastic Rock.

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

I like this band as much as i like Soft Machine. "We'll Talk About It Later" is my favourite.
Their "Live in Bremen" double disc is incredible as well. If you like Soft Machine you really should check out Ian Carr and the boys.

Unfortunately, I don't think I've heard more than samples from In Flagrante Delicto.

Snakehips etc... had great music and a front cover worthy of the wettest dream. The lady had a pair of hips.... and a trumpet to boot.

Five-way tie between Elastic Rock, Solar Plexus, Roots, Alleycat, and Snakehips Etc., but I'll vote for Alleycat since it probably won't get much praise from anyone else.

From what I've heard (which is probably far too little to actually give a fair vote) I like "We'll Talk About It Later" best.

Got them all,and love them all.
Gave 'Under the sun' my vote though. It's a very all around solid release.

It's amazing how many members left Nucleus to join Soft Machine. Karl Jenkins, Babbington, Holdsworth,Marshall and more.  Carr was really influenced by Miles Davis and it seems Nucleus was a band where great musicians joined in for a while then left better off for the experience. A similar thing happened to those musicians who joined with Miles Davis, they left better off than before they came.

I've always been a fan of the first 3 (Elastic Rock/ We'll Talk Aboit It Later/Soalr Plexus).  I think those 3 stand the test of time.  I've found Nucleus started to sound dated around Belladonna(although, I was turned on to Nucleus around 1996)...so I'm writing about Nucleus retrospectively.  I was a tot when they released those albums(born in 1971).
