../artist.asp?id=3124 - REBEL WHEEL Release "We are in the Time of Evil Clocks" on 10T Records

Charleston, SC - March 15, 2010 (10T Records) - 10T Records is proud to announce the release of the brand new full length CD release by The Rebel Wheel, entitled "We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks" on June 8, 2010. This will be the Ottawa-based band's 3rd official release and their second on 10T Records, following the critical acclaim of 2008's "Diagramma.

Steeped in dark, cinematic soundscapes and complex turn-on-a-dime arrangements, The Rebel Wheel feature an infectious mix of rock aggression and soaring, odd-meter unpredictability. A four-piece performance band featuring guitars, keyboards, sax, drums and bass, The Rebel Wheel focus on modern, genre-blending Progressive Rock with strong male and female lead vocals. The current lineup of The Rebel Wheel features David Campbell on guitar, keyboards, bass, and vocals, Angie MacIvor on alto and soprano saxes, vocals, and keyboards, Aaron Clark on drums and percussion, and Claude Prince on bass.

"We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks" contains seven songs with the largest piece being the 30-minute multi-part epic, "The Discovery of Witchcraft". At times intense and dissonant, at other times lyrical and direct, "We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks" features the band's strongest material to date, combining their unique arrangements and unexpected sonic excursions with a self-contained compositional symmetry that stands alone within the current musical landscape.

According to bandleader, David Campbell, the album title was inspired by a story my then 10 year old son wrote called "Wii are in the time of Evil Clocks". It was about a wii game controller and an evil clock. They battled, the clock was defeated, and for some obscure reason the controller got a job at Wal-Mart where he worked until the end of his days. We liked the title (and of course made wii a we) and decided to use the evocative qualities of it to write a series of loosely related songs vaguely suggesting some dystopian evil future.

"We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks" is available for immediate pre-sale through the 10T Records website. All orders received between now and the official release date will ship by the end of the week prior to the official release.

Additionally, all tracks from "We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks" are available to preview in their entirety through the 10T Records website:
