... with some disco groove. Excellent music. Lucifer's Dream is a fantastic album with Eastern, psyche, jazz-rock and pop qualities. As Between,and Brave New World is also considered krautrock, I guess that's were Ralf Nowy belongs too. Of course none of them would be lumped in there if they were located elsewhere than Germany. Anyway Lucifer's Dream is brilliant easternflavored, symphonic, jazzrock-fusion. Thanks for the responses. Yep, definitely should be in PA. It does have pastoral folk aspects too and nice symph qualities as noted. He could be included in an Art Rock sub such as Eclectic, or Crossover for the mainstream qualities. It's a fabulous album, and while Acid Folk is a component (and of course I love acid folk so that partially explains the immense appeal), I wouldn't see it so readily in Prog Folk. It's also funky, pastoral/ symphy. jazzy, rockin' etc. Judging that album alone, and not considering country, I would've thought Eclectic-oriented. One can't really judge it on that one track, It is commonly regarded as part of Krautrock . The bit from Lucifer's Friend is very nice with an oriental/world music flavour. Reminded me of East Of Eden with a lesser eclectic approach.
Dfficult to judge his worthiness of PA inclusion from just two samples. How representative of his output are they?

The first track is more representative, the second is a bit of an oddity (an Italian "single" release), I think, which I included more for fun (I commonly don't even find it listed under his discography). Lucifer's Friend covers a much broader range of styles which is why I consider it to be more of an Eclectic album (I know it's not much, but check out the emusic link I provided for short samples of the album). The follow ups are more funk/jazz-rock, I believe. I'm sure that Nowy is suitable for PA, but certainly more material would be required for the evaluators. ------------- Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. Lucifer's dream is a top class krautrockin' trip with lot of moods, epiphanic-luminous sound textures and tripped out vibes. thanks to remind us about this old classic. The rest of his discography is continuously enthusiastic but more kitschy and fashionably jazzy. he can easily be added in the krautrock subgenre next to others jazzy kraut combos such as gebarvaterli, Xhol, Ibliss, Annexus Quam (...)
