They've just published (or about to publish) an album, available on cdbaby.

There are quite some fragments on myspace:
http://www.myspace.com/modestmidget - www.myspace.com/modestmidget
and they also have an (adequately) modest site, but pretty informative:
http://www.modestmidget.com - www.modestmidget.com
The music page here has quite a few fragments from the album, and in much better quality than on the myspace.
Any comments?

Now beginning their MySpace page ...
Interesting sounds indeed, with complex components of jazz, classic, heavy, and poppy fragrance.

Which subgenre do you feel they can be fitter for? Wink
Xover IMO?

Yes!!  We recently received a promo copy at the ProgPos station.  I'll confess, most new releases are a little "ho-hum" to me these days... but I was immediately blown away by this one!  This is very intelligently constructed and arranged music IMO.

Varied and eclectic, with enough quirky twists, turns and tonality to satisfy the Gentle Giant fan in me...

Yet catchy enough to captivate and maintain the attention of my video game playing 12 year old son.  And basically all video-game playing 12 year old sons are musically ADD these days I think...  Wink

I'm not sure but I think even my *wife* likes this CD???  Shocked

And the guitar-work is just excellent.  Other guitarists play faster, sure... But how many play such well constructed and angular lines as this?  Almost none in the pop/rock world, that's for sure.

Of course, your milage may vary...  But this is some of the best pop music I've heard in a long, long time!

Just my 2 cents,

Mark Stephens

Got the CD today, after being in touch with L. (he's looking for a new bass player for the forthcoming European tour, any takers?). This band deserves to be here.

Please let me know when accepted, I'd be glad to run a bio.
