Hi everyone. Kinetic Element has entered a "stalled" period as of last October when Tony D'Amato announced his departure from the band. We have had a woeful time finding a bassist in Richmond VA where we live. We've had some contact with a talented guy in Nashville but he has not decided whether he can relocate up here. We've talked to several guys from our area but only two have come to play and were not right for us.  ALTHOUGH in the last week three candidates have popped up and we hope to audition them very soon.

What we HAVE been doing is forging ahead with some new music with your erstwhile keyboardist/vocalist (ahem) now also playing left hand bass. Todd and I had a couple of "pull ideas out of the air" sessions and then Michael came in and we started trying to make sense out of the ideas. The result at this point is one complete piece to be called "War Song" (which is actually a song about a love affair in time of war) and another piece half-written tentatively called "One of a Thousand Dreams."

We are also rehearsing a mini-show in this format. The set list is
1. Now and Forever (KE)
2. Fanfare for the Common Man (ELP)
3. The Ascent (KE)
4. Jacob's Ladder (Rush)
5. See The Children (KE)
We're going to see whether we can do a good enough version of our long piece "Reconciliation" as a trio.

All the details appear to be in place to attend the ROSfest progressive music festival in Gettysburg, PA April 30 through May 2. We'll have a vendor table and if you are coming to ROSfest please stop by and say hello. All three of us will be there with bells on, we'll have "Powered by Light", "Starship Universe" and our original-lineup T-Shirts (what's left of them LOL) for sale. We have our tickets and hotel reservations and are looking forward to seeing ten stupendous prog bands on a stage we hope to be on eventually. Also looking forward to some serious dinners with our friends! Please check out http://www.rosfest.com/ - www.rosfest.com for more info and links to the performing bands' sites.

The CDs are available from Caerlyssi Music in Wales (UK), Syn-Phonic and Kinesis, as well as directly from us.

We hope you all had a happy Easter/Passover time, got in a good Spring Break, and are enjoying the break in the cold with the long-awaited arrival of spring. We miss performing and you will be the first people to know when we are able to get back out there.

We're in this prog together.
Mike Visaggio, Michael Murray, Todd Russell
