Blood of The Sun is an American band playing mix of 70' classic hard rock/heavy prog a la Deep Purple mark II, Uriah Heep, Lucifer's Friend, Bloodrock and Atomic Rooster (tasty guitar riffs, fantastic real Hammond B3 organ soloing, good melodies) and Stoner rock (especially vocals). They usually play quite long 5-8 minutes songs with long organ/guitar soloing. The most important bandmate in Blood of the Sun is their organist/pianist Dave Gryder who previously played in symphonic prog group Covenent (already on PA) and heavy prog Storm At Sunrise.

They recorded 3 albums:

original line-up:

Henry Vasquez : Drums, lead vocals on 2nd album
Jay Benfield : Guitar
Dave Gryder : Hammond B3 organ, clavinet, electric piano
Miguel Veliz : Bass
Rich Christopher : Guitar
Mark Zammaron : Vocals (on 1st album)
Derek St. Holmes: Vocals (on 3rd album)

Their best album is "Death ride" with new vocalist (finally good, clear, 70' inspired vocalist!) Derek St. Holmes. They also included cover version of Lucifer's Friend's 'Keep Going' there.

Their weakest one is clearly the debut with too metal-sounding original vocalist and short songs.

Excellent band. I don't think what they play is prog; riffs, jamming, occasional solos and that's quite it. But they do it great.

If you like this band check out also my 2nd suggestion for PA - "Storm At Sunrise". Similar style and the same organist. He is a leader there (he also plays drums and sings on "Storm At Sunrise"). Every song has long Hammond solo on their 2 albums :-) :-) :-)

Don't you think these 2 bands deserve to be included on PA as Heavy prog or maybe prog-related? I think they influences by such bands as Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Lucifer's Friend, Atomic Rooster etc. are very evident...

I agree with harmonium, a very good hardrock band but not quite prog: the presence of a Hammond doesn't necessarily make a difference.  But these guys are good, and thanks for your suggestion.  Still working on your others, and since I asked you to not suggest any HeavyProg bands till we get to the ones you've already posted, more bands don't really help.

Sorry, but I listened to this band (and "Storm at sunrise") from quite a long time and I decided that it's time to suggest them on PA.
