Hello friends,
I think its about time we lend some consideration to this outfit from Catalonia. Formed in the 70s and still releasing records today, this band has managed to integrate the familiar exercises of fusion with the sounds of the Mediterranean. Their use of horns and (rare) vocals in Catalan sets them apart from the Prog Andaluz bands that hail from other portions of the Iberian peninsula. I heartily suggest taking a listen either at their Myspace or (as I did) via eMusic downloads. Here's a taste of what they're capable of:

Companiya Electrica Dharma are the long overdue on this site: they're listed on many major prog rock sites for many years ago - I saw the live and they're great, although they're more folk than JRF to me.

There is an ethnic component in their music, indeed, but I think the general context is Fusion. I'll ask the JRF to evaluate this excellent band (I liked the music a lot).
Here's the MySpace too: http://www.myspace.com/zonapiratsdharma - http://www.myspace.com/zonapiratsdharma
