Yesterday, Rich Harding, singer for Marillion tribute acts Skyline Drifters (UK), Lords of the Backstage (Netherlands), Forgotten Sons (Scotland) and Misplaced Neighbourhood (Norway) was severly injured in motor cycle accident in Wales. Initially people feared for his life, but he seems to be stable now. Given the severity of his injuries (broken legs and ribs, punctured longs and head injury) all we can do is hope for the best.

Stay with us, Rich.

Actually, Rich doesn't have head injuries, his helmet protected him, but that's the only good news so far. He is now at the intensive care unit at Abergavenny Hospital, Wales in critical condition, with fracture in his neck, a fractured left shoulderblade, numerous rib fractures, some in several places, several fractures in his spine, and a broken thumb. His left leg was badly fractured in eight places and his left in five. His pelvis has serious damage. His chest and stomach had been crushed, and there was severe internal bleeding in the area of his lungs.

The rest of Misplaced Neighbourhood are of course in shock and our thoughts and hearts are with Rich & Sarah 24/7. The planned UK October tour is obviously on hold, the dates will be rescheduled to next year when Rich, hopefully, will be able to fully function again.

We love you, man! Get well, and let's get back on that stage again soon!!!

Hello Moffedillen, thanks for the correction - as far as it can be considered good news. I learned about this from the guys in Lords of the Backstage - their bass player was in shock, hearing about it the day before he left for holidays in Austria. Fingers crossed....

Latest update:
Rich is still attached to life support but he is breathing for himself, they hope to take the machine away in the next 24 hours, this is great news to hear and a good step forwards.
Here's one more of Rich in his natural element:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp-0XDXaCs0&feature=related - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp-0XDXaCs0&feature=related

Hi.

Please also note that Rich is also the vocalist in Also Eden and there is a case on his and Sarah's accident http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=69443 - here . Also Eden is a superb band btw.

I am taking the freedom to send him a get-well-soon card on Monday. I guess this card covers the sentiments raised in this and the Also Eden thread.
