This is a new instrumental album, currently a digital only release from ZSXI Recordings.  I'd say the sub-genres bounce between symphonic, space & post-rock mainly.  There are a few classic rock and jam influences as well.

Here is the write-up from CD Baby:

The debut album from Petroleum Falcon attempts to conjure up that brief period when progressive rock was refreshing and creative. In other words, before it began to collapse under its own weight like a neutron star. Musical quotes dot the landscape as though they were bread crumbs leading the way in (or out). Three pieces from uber-classic film scores are covered here, an homage to modern composers who probably won't like them very much.

Other influences include Romantic composers like Herold and Grieg, who's music could often become a soundtrack to the invisible movie playing in your head (if you're into that sort of thing) and of course Hendrix, Hackett, Howe, Hillage, Tibbetts, Fripp, Beck, Page, Gilmour and the rest...

If you can provide a contact on the team, I'll send them a link to the full album so they can check it out.  It is kind of Eclectic after all...

You can send a PM to me and I'll pass it along to the other members of the Eclectic team.

So what's the timeline for this kind of thing?  I sent a PM about 3 weeks ago (w/ follow up).  How does one know whether one has been accepted or rejected?

I wanted to request some member reviews but being "listed" is a prerequisite apparently.

@lyssagale12 -- Thanks! Big smile

OK great.  Black hole it is then.

Submission/acceptance process needs some work IMHO.

The evaluation teams here is putting in an incredible amount of unpaid man-hours every day. Sometimes faced with a situation which seems like a sinking Titanic. Most of their wives could put in ProgArchives as the only reason for divorce in the divorce proceeding. But without these evaluation teams, there would be no ProgArchives. Hence, these teams has my unreserved admirations.

I have your album though and I am able to do an interview with you next week. Please PM me your e-mail address and we can set it up.

Will do.  I understand this is all volunteer work & it's much appreciated.  Just looking for some kind of confirmation that the process is under way.  Thanks.

I bought your album and I really think that you belong here on ProgArchives. The question is, where. I don't want to interfere in Eclectic team's territory, but once they're OK with that, I would like to drag Petroleum Falcon to Crossover territory.

So far, PF has two votes from Eclectic, one positive, one negative.

Appreciate the kind words & have to admit its hard to wrap my head around all these sub-genres -- both as a listener and as a producer.  Not nearly as crazy as electronic music though!

^ Hard Dance / Gabber ? What the ...

Well, it can be annoying at times to wait, but with site big like us, number of suggestions is quite big. And each of them have to be evaluated thoroughly.

We have teams here and each of them has their "jurisdiction", which sometimes interferes with other team's space. Like here. And also you should know that what one member of Eclectic team feels like Eclectic isn't what another one feels.

I'll ask the rest of Crossover team for evaluation, OK ?

That's fine, thanks.

Also the wait isn't a bother.  For a month or so there I had no idea what was going on (if anything) but I have a better understanding now.
