This topic is also on "unsigned" band (I don't know where it would be the best)

Hello

I'd like to present my own band here "ConFusion".
I think we can be considered as "unsigned" band as we are

1- pure "amateurs" as we make our living out of any music business

2- have no artist contract

3- we have released 3 albums but recorded by ourselves with basic recording gear, only available FOR FREE on

internet

4- almost totally unknown

Now let me introduce my band

"ConFusion" is a French jazz-rock fusion band mainly inspired by 70's music (fusion, jazz rock, progressive and

zeuhl music)
I would say we play a kind of "progressive jazz"

The band started in 1996 as a quartet (drums , bass, keys and violin) playing first covers of COREA, Don

GROLNICK, SHORTER, METHENY etc.. and began to compose their own tunes.

we recorded a first demo "HOME MADE" with only our own tunes (for copyrights reasons) in 1999.
This album is now available on internet and can be downloaded for free on:

http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/37602 - http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/37602

Then, after a change of drummer we focused only on original compositions and released a second album

"Jazzpassaj" in 2004 available for free on:
http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/2913 - http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/2913

later our bassist left the band and we tried to continue as a trio, we rearranged the material accordingly and

the violonist introduced the electric guitar in his sound palette.

We had the luck to find an adequate bass player in 2008 and worked on our 3rd album "3 ème Impair" just

released this month and available for free on:

http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/72804 - http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/72804

We also have a myspace page:

http://www.myspace.com/groupeconfusion - http://www.myspace.com/groupeconfusion

We have participated on a MAGMA compilation "HAMTAÏ" available (not for free here) on:
http://www.welcomerecords.com/indexflash.php - http://www.welcomerecords.com/indexflash.php

Hope that somebody would enjoy our music.

We would also be pleased to have a band page on progarchive but don't know if how to do it and if it's possible

for unsigned bands

Welcome to PA! I'll check out the albums, sounds interesting. Indeed, for the moment "unsigned" bands can't be added to PA. Still, the forum can be used as a good promotional tool. There are quite some French people here, and others who live in France (like I do). Cheers Big smile
