Indeed. I showed these cowards who's the boss in the factory Tongue Well, you can barely see what's being projected on the wall I suppose. Maybe you'll see word TCP/IP and other IT-related things. It was lesson of internet technologies.

My wife Vicky (an occasional visitor here) - it was a case of 'who cares about the weather?'

See - we did get some sunshine

Despite everything, we had a great time & out of the 19 we've attended, definitely one of the top 5

Well, talking about drinking, the first photo (top left) is me before and top right is me after. After what ? Well, how to explain, roughly translated as "Ending party of High school". Big event.

And all booze was for free.

Similar event, only few months later:

@Jim: LOL

Unfortunately there aren't many options available if you want to drink a beer at the regular French bar. There are some international brands like Heineken and Leffe, some local ones Kronenburg (this is what I usually drink) and another one whose name escapes me, and if you're lucky they'll also have unfiltered beer... And that's (usually) it.

What a fish ( Spanish Mackerel) I am not an angler. I have  caught about 1/2 dozen fish in my life and pulled this bugger aboard. He/she fed 20 people. Bloody hard work was not the word bringing this in.I went because my bother in law is the angler and he came back empty handed and anyway I will go out on the ocean anytime, fishing or not. love it out on the water. Hamilton Island,Whitsundays in Queensland was the place.  Yippee I have a fish photo. One for the bedroom, another at the front door and one in the living area, just in case anybody misses it LOL

13 pound mirror carp, only partially scaled, hence the light colour - fought like a bugger, but brought him in, hence the very cheesy grin!

Ever been to a good ol' North Carolina redneck cookout?  Here we are!

From left to right: My brother Jason, my dad (playing my Strat), me (playing his), and my uncle Danny on vocals (sort of).

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs154.ash2/41014_1582811936154_1411397491_31542553_2297607_n.jpg

That microphone stand is a fan stand.  My uncle also uses it as a sprinkler stand.  That day it was a mic stand.  And that kid running up there is my cousin's boy Jake (Danny's grandson).  He's hell on wheels!  Cool kid.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs294.snc4/41014_1582811976155_1411397491_31542554_2040134_n.jpg

Jake nearly turned the water hose on our amplifiers.  Good thing his mama his fast.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs294.snc4/41014_1582812016156_1411397491_31542555_3663973_n.jpg

Speaking of his fast mama, here she is racing with my brother Jason.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs294.snc4/41014_1582812136159_1411397491_31542557_2454122_n.jpg

Dottie was always adventurous like this.  When we were kids, I rode on the back of her ten speed bike and got my foot caught in the spokes.  She wondered why the hell the brakes were on even though she wasn't applying them.  God that hurt.  Ouch

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs434.snc4/47733_1582814016206_1411397491_31542559_6856431_n.jpg

And Jason wins with a little bump draft from a second cousin!

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs214.ash2/47733_1582814056207_1411397491_31542560_4905419_n.jpg

Here's the band again.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs214.ash2/47733_1582814176210_1411397491_31542563_5671231_n.jpg

Here I am giving a full performance of Still the Waters.  Psych.  I sang "I Fall to Pieces" by Patsy Cline, "When the Man Comes Around" and "Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash, and "Statesboro Blues" and "One Way Out" by the Allman Brothers Band.  My old man used a half-full beer bottle for the slide guitar solos.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs434.snc4/47733_1582814256212_1411397491_31542565_7156816_n.jpg

My boy looking downright American in a Radio Flyer wagon.  His little sister is fat and happy in the stroller back there.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs375.snc4/45783_1582815616246_1411397491_31542575_3571271_n.jpg

95 years of life.  My great grandma Eva Maynor was born April 14, 1915.  And yeah, she could probably kick your ass.  She's holding my brother Jason's son, who's name is Edgar.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs362.snc4/44496_1582819336339_1411397491_31542592_1247742_n.jpg

Singing an old country song is my Great Aunt Lene.  I forget how old she is but she's having a tough bout with emphysema.  I swear, it was worth going to North Carolina if only to hear her voice again.  She sounded amazing.  I wish you could hear it.

Thanks for sharing those RobertClap

Absolutely Jim.

That's kind of one reason we're moving back to NC.  My wife has her immediate family here, but that's it.  My entire family just about (both sides) is in a 40 mile radius.  And I've already missed 2 funerals this year.  I'll not miss another.

You guys with living grandparents?  Visit them.  Call them.  Write them.  They are treasures and when they are gone you will not get them back.

He was born March 1st of 1961.  He works 2 full time jobs though.  If he doesn't slow down life will slow him down.  Amazing man though.  Better guitar player than me too.

Indeed, it always pleases me to see your family. You're happy man for sure. Speaking about your dad (one year older than my dad), were you thinking about asking him for help on let's say one track's guitar work ? It would be interesting. Or you can ask more vocal-talented people from your big family and do something like multi-vocal track. Seriously meant. Wink

By the way, does your family members loves Echolyn and Kansas as well ?

My family literally knows nothing about prog rock.  My dad got me into Kansas, but only because he played "Dust in the Wind" on guitar.

Yes, I will get my dad to record a guitar part on something probably.  He actually has played drums longer than guitar, but doesn't own a set anymore.

It's unfair Rob. In my family there's no grandparents and now grand children... guess is time for my brothers to start getting kiddos...

But great pics Rob... I would love to jam along with my family but only an uncle is an organ player... the rest doesn't know nothing about music...

Yes, negoba you are quite metal.
I expect you summon the devil's power for guitar skill and use the summoning spell as lyrics?

The young Ivan is very handsome Clap and also reminds me of a famous football player - but I can't remember who exactly!
