If Prog had been more popular, our idols might have made some extra cash by advertising or sponsoring various items. Below some possible examples.

Any other ideas?  (never mind about pictures, just the idea or text will do)

Well, IT IS just for fun so if they do, no problem, but "Just for Fun" is in "Topics not related to music", and this one is certainly related to music.

I don't have much time but here come a couple more. The proposal for Tony Banks advertising sweaters was good but made me think that Pat Metheny fitted the bill even better. And Vander's Rosetta language idea was unmissable !

p.s. please note that I have edited the brand advertised by Ian Anderson in the OP for a bit more fun Wink

maybe some others will follow when I get some time !

Hi,

Ohhh my goodness ... this could be really bad ... but I am not exactly very good with Photoshop so ... my words will have to do.

Angela Allen (Carmen) -- She, of course, will be selling shoes, specially those with nice strong heels for tapping on the ground.

Kris Karrer - Selling books, and of course, they would all be of the sufi-sticated type to match his wits, and all of them be about mystical something or other. No fakes need apply!

Elton John - Make up and Hair Dressing for Men!

Peter Michael Hamel - Selling articles on music theory, since his book didn't sell due to its amazing trashing of all music except his!

Kitaro - Selling washing machine music to make sure the housewives do your laundry! (... so sorry washing machines!)

Mika and her husband - Samurai swords to throw around on stage while the band is playing and she is singing!

Edgar Froese - Will be selling EF busts ... they look almost identical to Beethoven and it is superstition in Germany that if you want to be famous you have to be and look nasty!

Mani Neumaier - Selling insane rubber duckies that go quack quack while he plays! No matter that these were a double entendre about East Germany!

Freddie Mercury - Cloaks ... and specially white ones that only royalty know how to wear! That Rick guy would look silly if his hair was black on those cloaks!

Iggy Pop - Those boards with nails that fakirs like to lay down on and collect a few dollars off your wallet!

Roy Wood - Furs to match his unusually long and wild hair! More dates with Annie Haslam might get him a little more normal, but not get us as much fun stuff as Eddie and the Falcons or Mustard ... of course, finding these you have to go to hell and back!

Peter Hammill - Microphones ... but we could also use him for amplifiers!

Madonna - "$ex Anything or Other" and then we get gorgeous pictures for them and sell it as a book for $29.95. Makes for a great coffee table book! No fair discussing her preferences or desires!

Keith Jarrett - Pianos without scales so his fingers could trip around even more. And find new sounds for our minds!

Bootsie Collins - One effect that does all the effects for his bass guitar and it still makes our heads turn crazy every time we hear it! Wahwah pedal is, of course, extra and that one is set to all max settings to make sure your brain stays scrambled and you have taken enough sunshine juice!

Jon McLoughlin - He sells speed ... we won't discuss what kind!

DT's MP - He sells drum kits, and they are all bigger than him, and taller, so he looks smaller. And of course, the kits always have a bigger sound than anyone else in the band! He's not good enough to sell drum lessons, that honor goes to any drummer that is not showing off!

AC/DC - shotguns!

I think I better stop here before it all gets nutz ... and we really needed this to break the monotony all around ... this is very good and congrats ... and if you can do a couple of mine on Phptoshop ... plzzzzzz!

I think the only way he would wear a sweater with vertical stripes is when he is laying down, so they remain horizontal LOL

Roger Waters for faux-Nazi Halloween costumes.  "If they hadn't killed my dad, I wouldn't be the genius I am today!"  Or, alternately, "Yes, they killed my dad.  But they also had style."

Geddy Lee for custom dog whistles.

Claudio Sanchez for Lord of the Rings:  "The book so good, I ripped it off five times!  Also Ender's Game!  And Dune!"

Kerry Livgren for Christianity:  "My soul is saved.  Who needs to write decent music anymore?  Also, you can use the Host as a guitar pick."

Cedric Bixler-Zavala for black tar opium:  "My greatest inspiration!  Analgesic turnips lathe the infectious emu waffle!"

Freddie Mercury for Homosexuality: "I've got plenty to go around!"

John Lennon for Paul McCartney's solo albums:  "I hate them!  I love them!  He's an idiot!  He's a genius!  They're all about me, anyway...except maybe the one with the goat.  Or was that about me?  I hate him!"
