Opening for the Oceansize concert yesterday was Vessels, a British post rock band as well with an EP and an album under their belt and the second album coming next year. They aren't in the archives yet, so it's time for that to change.

There's samples on those sites (might be the same ones, though) and here's a video which was my first touch with the band:

My impressions by the half-concert I managed to see was that they're somewhat kind of perhaps like Russian Circles, only not so heavy and perhaps a tad more twisted. And I'm sure there's a lot more to them.

I guess Passionist is going to contact the band for a proper bio, I happened to meet him when I headed to the merch stand to buy everything they had, and I heard someone talking to one of the bandmembers how they're not yet in PA, which I'd noticed earlier that day as well Tongue

Hmm, interesting band. Their music is very eclectic, there was only one track (the mini-epic "Look At That Cloud") on their MySpace which I'd consider pure & clean post-rock. The comparison with Russian Circles stands (and they also remind me of recent Sigur Ros too, among others). I'll take them to the Post Rock team and see what the resolution is...

Hi. Yeah, the guys said they'll tell us about themselves once they have time to write mail after the tour. Nice gig Thumbs Up

(They were a lot better than Oceansize in my opinion)
