Ever since I saw Terry Bozzio play on Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop tour in '89, I bacame a huge fan. He could be the guy to help Dream Theater go down that new road.

It's funny you mention Guitar Shop since my brother picked it up a few days ago (I have a cassette version).  I believe there's a thread titled "Portnoy's Replacement" or something similar in another section here.

Just curious what drummers have auditioned at this point since they supposedly were bringing in 7 guys over a two week span.

Read where they'd only consider 'world class' drummers. Be interesting to find out what they consider world class after MP. Gotta believe there's not too many in *that* group.

Marco Minneman, of course

I don't think Bozzio's style would mesh very well with Dream Theater.

Richard Christie could be a good choice, though.

An 808.

They should ditch the vocalist, get the guy from that first album and take it back to the 80s!

Virgil Donati or  Rod Morgenstein   [ that could be a real option since he played in the RUDESS MORGENSTEIN PROJECT ]

Bozzio does not sound bad - what about Mark Zonder Wink

BOBBY JARZOMBEK!

my second choice would be a pretty good drummer with potential that portnoy actually knows but, is apart of one of the sh*tTIEST bands ever and would deserve a shot at this. his name is Jason Bittner and he's in a terrible band called Shadows Fall. he's pretty much the only good thing about that band and even then he is sadly underused. the guy has the skillset to be a prog drummer yet, he's stuck in a crappy metalcore band....

Hmm Ray Luzier, Charly Zelensky or Sean Reinert perhaps..although the first one is with Korn nowadays, don't know about Charly en I would hate to see Sean Reinert leave Cynic..
