I just discovered this fantastic band when I was looking trought my father record collection and I found all their Studio albums except the latest one, so I've been spending my whole weekend listening to these records.

My favorite album is propably the Debut, but Iso Lintu is very close. The musicianship on the debut is amazing, and the album got a very finnish sound in my opinion. So, which album is your favorite?

Well it's mainly the first two albums (haven't heard the third, however) that are really making this band Finland's best & most original  group....

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

This is one of the somewhat classic Finnish groups that I haven't been impressed by. I've listened to the debut a couple of times, might deserve another chance still.

Iso Lintu deserves credit for its hilarious cover.

Your post made me seek them out. Bought their first album. Really like it although I have only listened to it a couple of times.

One thing struck me though, the vocals in many of the tracks remind me of Trettioåriga Kriget that brilliant Swedish band from the same era. If you have not listened to them being Swedish you should, I love their music although like Haikara I have no idea what the songs are about. I would recommend in this order "Elden Av År" followed by "I Början och slutet" then "Hej På Er".

Thanks for bringing Haikara to my attention
