Ever since 2006, I have made 2 experimental comedy albums every year, and they can easily be found on my You Tube page, youtube.com/maddearth (or put in Hitler's Brain into the search bar, maybe followed by Kwis, cause you might get videos from the musical They Tried

We're not really supposed to be taken seriosuly, and I see the music as therapy, to help me make better serious music, but for the time being, I'll take the "piss" a little bit. (also, I started doing this when I ws 14, and it's all mainly acoustic music, and the acoustic I use has very thick strings, quite a big neck and I have very small hands haha...we also do some parody songs as well, and some of our songs can be quite long, with our longest actual track being 30 minutes)

They've all got odd titles, e.g. Some Sheep Have Penis', etc.

I dont make any money from doing it, I dont put any money into it, and alot of it can sound stupid and very badly produced, but I dare you to listen to it, I double dare you.

We've also gone into slightly more parody and rap territory, for some odd reason, and I dont really sing the songs, more like imitate or use funny voices, think of it like Mr. Bungle for the blind.

2006: Some Sheep Have Penis', In Your Boomstick
2007: You're Pawned, Comedy & A Half
2008: We're All Mistakes, LOL
2009: Black Comedy, Testoesterone Anthems Of Hysteria
2010: Humour Tumour, Party At The Vatican (To be released)

Did you read what for this thread is opened?

"If you are an artist who is going to post in this section of the forum, please make sure that your band is already on the Archives! If they are not, feel free to start a thread in the Suggest New Bands and Artists section (http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=1) before making your topic over here. This would just allow us to save time, and would take some of the burden of constantly moving threads to their correct location"

As Frank Zappa once said, they're only words, its those who intepret them wrong are at fault

It is a matter of respect for this place. There are filters in most office computer networks now who picks up swearwords and offensive material you are peddling. That means ProgArchives either get banned from the network(s) or the users of ProgArchives gets a stern warning from their employers.

Hence, keep it civil.

I have never before heard of employers searching visited pages for profanity. I guss it could happen, but I don't see why they would care that the website you are on is saying vagina penis hitler nazi unless all those words were actually being combined into the most disturbing neo-nazi site of all time. I'm all for not inlining explicit images without warning, but if your employer is paying that close attention to your computer then you should probably not be browsing PA on company time. Especially since for a long time somebody had the nipple-tastic cover of Roxy Music as his avatar and people regularly post what many people would consider outright pornography in any thread about album covers, not to mention the wink and a nudge references to drug use.

It's not funny, but I cannot see how it's not "civil".

All major organizations have software detecting and flagging up profanity and matters the organization deems inoffensive or dangerous. I know because I am Mr. Gestapo in my organization.

Let's leave it like that, Mr. Plainview.  Wink

I'm not gonna search for the rest of the lyrics for Supper's Ready, it's just whenever Narcissisum is said, you have to admit, that's the first thing that comes to mind

Really? I understand blocking porn but what is your motivation for seeing if somebody is reading a website that says sh*t? If the concern is them wasting time on Cracked, SomethingAwful, etc., wouldn't it be easier to do a whitelist? I can't claim any knowledge of corporate policy, but this surprises me because I have been reading a lot of popular websites for a long time, and I can only recall NSFW language warnings on video/audio clips, I assume in case people overhear you. So either the people one websites only think that they're not used in the US or they're actually not used, and I will never know the truth. Le sigh.

It is called "productivity" and the use of for example Facebook during working hours is called "theft of property and time" which is punishable with disciplinary hearings. This is a policy I have to follow and enforce.

.......... although it pains me. I personally believe many of these banned websites is more useful than harmful. But the powers that is has deemed otherwise. If I get in position to change this policy, I will.

There is evidence to suggest that people get more accomplished if they're allowed to take more breaks, particularly in the primarily intellectual work of white collar drones. There's a certain point, obviously, when it's too much, since it takes time to mentally switch from one task to another, but it's not really possible for people to sit down and do eight straight hours of the mental drudgery required for office work. In fact, in its corporate offices Best Buy has started only demanding results without regard to how you get them. Which is something we whippersnappers have apparently been complaining about for a long time, that old-school managers think they are paying employees to physically be there 40 hours a week, no matter what they actually accomplish, not for results. I am a retail drone, which obviously does require my presence, so I have no experience with that yet.

Is the idea that sites with profanity are added to the blacklist? If so, again, why allow open internet access in the first place? And as the IT guy, do you sneak in PA time past the filter? ;-)
