I'm sure this band will get into PA. As a Malaysian, I'm proud to bring to your attention - Akasha. They released one album so far (Into...Akasha in 2009) and their second will be out early next year. Below is the description in the official website:

"AkashA (ethereal space, bountiful space) is a vibrant band that seeks to explore beyond the boundaries of tradition, beyond the constraints of culture.

AkashA is a 7-piece Malaysian band, playing music straight from the heart. You could call it World Music, but it’s more than that. Like Malaysia itself, AkashA is a fusion of four cultures - Malay, Indian, Chinese, and Western. From these roots we explore all corners of the globe. There are experiments in African, Latin, Celtic, and Cuban jazz - just to name a few.

The mission of our music is to dazzle, to enthrall, to delight, and to move you. It’s not only about entertaining you, but it’s also about touching your heart in a way that only truly expressive music can. One moment we’ll have you whooping with the sheer joy of life, and in the next we’ll have you weeping with the tragic beauty of it. The music of this band brings out each individual's inner space of creativity.

So join us on a journey through the highs and lows of life - through all the colors of the world.

Join us on a journey Into … AkashA"

They appear to be unsigned, though. Not sure about the music, either...

Yeah, they self release their stuff. I should have posted in the unsigned bands section, sorry about that. Anyway, what do you exactly mean by not sure about the music?

^ Not sure about it being progressive rock. Maybe indo/raga rock? I only know Shakhti from that musical area, but Akasha doesn't sound like that.

It sure is hard to categorize them. Probably raga fusion?Confused

They are missing the 'rock' part it seems.
