So what's the deal? This EP seems to have been released without the tinniest of a splash. I don't see anyone hear talking about it. Doesn't seem to be much discussion anywhere at all.

There was a time when Kayo Dot threads were hit like crack. Has the forum composition changed? Have all the KD fans moved away? Or are people just tired of their act?

What are people thinking about this release?

I was going to say something snarky about Pnoom! being banned, but you're right, I hadn't even realized it was released. I don't even remember joel talking about it, and he's the biggest KD fanboy we have left, but maybe I just forgot because the hallucinations are kicking in.

I haven't heard it because I'm not paying $13 for 20 minutes of music, if they ever release it as a $3.99 download then maybe we'll talk.

My copy just arrived today, I haven't listened to it yet. I think Joel mentioned it in the news forums.

He doesn't like KD anymore. Not pitchfork enough.

He's not committed to avant-garde music at all anymore, Animal Collective turned him into such a hipster. :( And looking at his last.fm I just realized I haven't listened to any music besides the radio in 2 months, I guess I'm not committed to avant-garde music either.

I thought that maybe you hadn't gotten it yet, but the official release seemed to be in November, so I didn't think it would take that long even to get to joel in the middle of the ocean, I guess I was wrong.

I've heard it. Some people have been complaining about the choice of tonality with a distorted organ replacing what earlier Kayo Dot probably would have produced with massive feedback. I really love the choice.

I don't quite know how to describe it. Definitely different than what they've done before. Probably something more akin to Driver solo-work in some places. The first three listen I really was unimpressed. The piece initially seemed stagnant and flat. Something on the fourth listen really clicked and I'm obsessed with it now.
