So really Jerusalem/Toccata is one of the better one/two punches ever delivered in the olden days of prog, I'd say.
And did those feet...

Voted for Toccata but I can honestly say that every track on this album has been my favourite at one time or another.
Peerless and unimpeachable as far as Symphonic Prog goes

Toccatta easily, don't really like Karn Evil 9 anyway. Jerusalem is a close second.

Toccata, but the live version on WBMFTTSTNE is much better than the studio version.

Yep, nothing like the sound of a giant pipe organ.
Although it was a close vote against Tocatta....

A lot of people like Toccata here. The drumming is excellent on it, however.
I vote Still...You Turn Me On. Great, catchy riff.

I used to hate this song, but then one day, it became one of my favorite songs by ELP! I always wanted to play Brain Salad Surgery, and Jerusalem is the main reason why I start to listen to the album so many times. It is one of the best openings! I'm going to listen to it right now!

Yes, a nice Lake composition. I like the other songs on BSS also BTW. They're all great.

I'm shocked by the love for Jerusalem...... it's a hymn!
And unlike all the other compositions reworked by ELP (such as the one winning this poll), they didn't even add anything; it's just a straight play-thru, and poorly recorded, and Lake's singing is out of tune on WBMFTTSTNE.........
I only mention it 'cause I find it to be one of the worst album openings of the classic prog movement!

I actually love Jersusalem because its sums up the loose concept of the entire album in about 2-3 minutes , that is technology surplanting nature with its 'dark satanic mills' or as on KE9 with a computer gone 'mad'. This small point is often overlooked.
I vote Toccata though as this is as progressive a peice of music ever recorded. Completely 'out there' with no boundaries. Total unadalterated music madness. As Mr Ginastera remarked ''Terrible ,..terrible!!''

^Sinfield was truly a poetic visionary (prog is lucky to count him among its disciples).
Are we really the masters, or are computers? Well, if you think of computers as a metaphor for the responsibilities heaped upon us by this new technology, I wonder. I can't count on both hands the number of people I've offended because I'm too busy to keep up with Facebook or answer emails!

And the hymn was better than anything they wrote/reworked.

Jerusalem for its nice change of pace on an otherwise and for the most part intense album. Good keyboards also work nicely here.
