Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but Is the band's name pronounced Symphony "X" or Symphony "10" (because the "X" is the Roman numeral for 10)? | Well since we are talking about Symphony X, what's everyone's favorite album? "The Diving Wings of Tragedy" is my all time favorite, but this is one of the few prog metal bands where almost every single release is stellar. |

Funny story. V is not my favorite Symphony X album (that would go to Divine Wings), but it did introduce me to my favorite band when I read about SB's V's uncanny similarity in terms of album art. Guess I'm kind of indebted to them for that. I wonder if Symphony X will have an "X" album of their own when they reach number ten...

Yeah I think it may be "Five" as well because some of the lyrics on the album mention the number five quite consistently and there are lines like, "the power of five" (from the songs Fallen and Communion and the Oracle, at the top of my head). |

Could be 10 actually, due to the myth that Romantic composers never composed any more than 10 symphonies? (Mahler, Beethoven, Schubert, Prokofiev...)

What, the best is the Odyssey of course. It's got everything. Hmmm, V as in Vee, because we don't really use roman numbers in my language, and when/if we should use them, we pronounce them as letters. I think I might have guessed X was for ten, but that's just because I know it's not 1 or 5 :) |
