Nucleus was a short lived Canadian band which recorded only one album called just "Nucleus" in 1969. Their music is a very organ-driven proto-prog/heavy psych rock similar to such bands as Jackal, Ford Theater, Sugarloaf, Bull Angus, The Doors, Arcadium, Odyssey etc.

P.S. Not connected with British jazz-rock band with the same name!

line-up:

Greg Fitzpatrick (bass, vocals), Sebastian Agnello (keyboards), Bob Horne (keyboards), Hughie Leggat (bass, vocals), John Richardson (guitar, vocals), Danny Taylor (drums)

Checked their eponymous album - an old-fashioned psych rock with full of "patchy" structure, like "Anthem Of The Sun" by the pioneer Grateful Dead.
Not Psych Prog nor Crossover ... Prog-Related is the best solution IMHO.

Any influence upon Canadian Prog scene they have?

No idea if they influenced any other Canadian bands. I don't know too much about Canadian prog-rock scene. Sorry.

Nice band, and certainly progressive in their better moments. I'd define them as early, organ-based art rock, very close to Atomic Rooster, Colosseum (minus the jazz) and maybe Nektar too (minus the space-rock and plus the blues). I'll sugest them to the Heavy Prog team.

I would say they did have some influence on Canadian prog. One original member Hugh Leggat went onto A Foot In Coldwater, a great hard rock/heavy prog band in the vein of Deep Purple with heavy guitars and keys. Hugh Leggat then went on to to form his own band Leggat that is in the progarchives.

They actually have 3 members who went on and formed A Foot in Cold Water. As a matter of fact maybe A Foot should be on Pa.They had lots of proggy move much like Styx,Zeppelin,Heep,Magnum,Purple,ect....
