Recently, I have been listening to a bunch of harmonium and have really been loving them. Just a few minutes ago I was doing some research on them and saw that Harmonium's album L'Heptade has sold over 200,000 copies in Canada alone making it one of Canada's highest selling albums.
I thought this was very interesting but did anyone else know that Harmonium was actually popular at one time?

I didn't know they were (or are) popular at all. Their three albums are fantastic.

Did I mention that the album at the time was the most expensive to make in Quebec history? 90,000$!

Great band!Tthey were popular in the 70's in Quebec and now are discover by the big prog lover. They started in a more folk oriented sound but became more progressive with the second album. I think it's one if not the best band in that region.

They were fairly popular in Canada back in the day. The Quebec prog scene was big in the mid/late '70's with other great bands like Maneige, Sloche, Pollen, etc. Harmonium probably had the most success.

Man, I wish I was a teenage Quebecian in the 70's... It would be awesome listening to them on a warm July summer.

Love this band too. Histoires Sans Paroles must be one of the most beautiful songs I've heard.
