I actually enjoy his second album "L" with Hurdy Gurdy Glissando in particular . The Utopia crew did well .

Fish Rising is my personal fave, but he has made a lot of great records. Haven´t heard the one from 83, but he is consistently enjoyable throughout his carrier- including the Rainbow Dome thing which sees Steve mixing new age with electronic hippie love. What´s not to like

I like his live alum a lot. of his studio albums perhaps "Green" slightly in front of "Fish Rising" and "L"; "Motivation Radio" has its moments, but on the whole can not compete. Open sadly has only two good songs (the last two, which feature Dave Stewart).

Fish Rising and "L" are very close for me, but it's the atmosphere of the former that puts it slightly ahead.

Fish Rising and Green with Live Herald are all quality. Rainnbow Dome and Motivation Radio are good albums. Open is ok. I really can't listen to L mind, I think its the Utopian connection that ruins it.
Green gets the vote at this moment in time.

Hi,
GREEN is one of the prettiest albums ever recorded ... with Nick Mason's hand of death at the controls ... it is very clean, and beautiful all the way, and blends the effects and moments nicely, like only PF could do!

I'll say that Live herald and rainbow dome musick are pretty essential too so that makes it the first 6 essential.

Fish Rising and L, but a bit of Motivation never hurt. I got off the ride for Green and Open but I was back on board for For To Next. The song These Uncharted Lands is so incredible and when he played Nearfest he mentioned it as one of his favourites. I was soooo happy!!!
Gong Angel's Egg has some great hillage licks going on...

Two stand out for me, Live Herald and Radio Dome Music.
The former is an outstanding live album. Great production and all the songs are better than the studio versions especially the mesmerising Lunar Musick Suite.
Radio Dome Music is one of the best ambient albums I own, and I still play it 30 years on, which must say something. I'll vote for this one as it needs some support.

All of these albums are excellent, but "Fish Rising", "Green" and "Rainbow Dome Musick" are real masterpieces. I do love "L" as well.

I had to go with "Fish Rising" over "L" and "Motivation Radio" which are the only ones I own.
I also liked his playing on "Space Shanty" by Khan
Too bad he was only on two songs on "Shamal" by Gong.
