Knowing that she plays in the sextet of Taylor Ho Bynum and that she made a radio session with Joe McPhee, I thought she was rather in free jazz.
I really have to listen the WMFU session with her trio. Anyway, if her trio is in the "fusion"  genre, it makes sense that she opened for Esperanza Spalding in Paris this last tuesday.

Yes, Mary Halvorson Trio plays interesting avant-garde jazz (not fusion though)

Superb stuff. Not jazz-rock of course, but I see she was added on Jazz Music Archives, nice.

Added - finally.
Someday we'll get caught up at JR/F.

I noticed on her web site that she sometimes plays with trombonist Curtis Hasselbring.  I worked with him for a whie, and played one gig with him (a benefit show for another co-worker).  Small world.

Anyway, I added one album, but I'll let other members fill out her discography.

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.
