Some polls here have a "Both" option, perhaps a "Neither" option would be appropriate as well. In any case, why is it your concern if someone likes neither or both equally and states their opinion? Is it any different than when a poster insults and degrades a band in a poll when they are clearly fans of the other band in the poll? Doesn't that in fact occur in almost every poll? Saga is a very distinctive band, with creative instumentalists and an amazing singer. A legend, which is creating some of their most amazing music also in 00s. Although I like person of Barrett and of course Nolan (especially with Arena), Pendragon imo sounds mostly just like a fabricated and forced copycat of legendary bands.

Absolutely Pendragon over Saga! The first few Saga albums are good, but with the exception of the debut album, most of the rest are AOR/rock/pop albums with slight proggy frillings here and there....which doesn't mean they're bad in any way (`Worlds Apart' is a great pop album), but not as interesting from a prog view (which, let's face it, is why we're here on the Forum!) But Pendragon have never delivered even a remotely bad album (and that includes the poppier/new-wave-flavoured `Kowtow', which is just a great rock/pop album), and while they've changed their sound over the years, they've always remained prog-rock and deliver very rewarding discs.

The Jewel is one of my least favorite Pendragon albums To me, they got better with time Also, post 2000 Saga albums have got better as well.

Two of my favortie bands. But Saga is the best band in the world, in my book (Queen and Saga). Difficult to compare both bands, but if I really have to choose, I'd choose Saga anytime of the day. |
