I guess all the introduction needed in terms of description is right here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Praxis_%28band%29" rel="nofollow - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Praxis_(band)

I couldn't see them listed on the genre charts at Progfreak, so I was wondering if they were ever officially rejected or not.  Maybe it slipped through the cracks.

I would've just bumped one of the following thread about them, but they were locked:

As of where to put them, possibly avant rock, but here's some samples for you:

their music is not really avant-garde, it's a mix of black music (rap, p-funk and gospel), dub and hardcore/jazzcore. However, since we already have Mr Bungle, which is not prog but also a mix of various genres, there should be a place for Praxis as well.

It seems strange we would inclued Colonel Claypools Bucket of Bernie Brains but not Praxis as they are esentially the same band (one member difference) with the same style.

^

Mr Bungle is not prog, this is an amalgation of various styles, and prog is not one of these genres (ska, rap, funk, metal, contemporary classical music, easy listening, techno, jungle, free jazz, world music, noise, OST).
This is not prog rock in the way prog rock bands define it in the seventies.

I think Praxis, along with Buckethead as a solo artist, should be included.

I've spoken in favor of adding Buckethead after a while I just gave up.

Could I respectfully request an update on Laswell's status on PA, please?
This is the latest of three threads I could access and the last post was more than two years ago - Laswell is still not listed on PA under his name.
