Not sure if this is suitable given this band have only released an EP, available for free download on Bandcamp but it's certainly progressive rock- http://eighthwhale.bandcamp.com/%20" rel="nofollow - http://eighthwhale.bandcamp.com/

Eighth Whale are an instrumental progressive rock four-piece who mix in jazz rock/fusion and post-rock and have come up with a very listenable EP. The Basement EP was released last February and is well worth a download. It's certainly had a few metaphorical "spins" on my iPod. I'll let you clever experts decide on the sub-genre Smile

I'd certainly support an inclusion on the site - probably a good fit in eclectic?

Cool stuff! I hear a wide variety of influences like you said, and I'm thinking perhaps Crossover or Eclectic would be the best fit for them. Due to the heavy presence of accessible and bluesy melodies, I think the former may be the best choice.

In terms of genre, the band describe themselves thus; "Eighth Whale utilizes a mix of highly structured composition and open ended explorations into the musical unknown." I love reading tags like this that make me non-the-wiser. You've got to try the music and work it out for yourself! Anyway, could fit in either eclectic or crossover for me.

Good band! Very ecletic, indeed!

Mainly out of curiosity, how do you track an artist that has been moved in Progfreak? This was being evaluated by Crossover who've all elected to move it. To where though? I half expected to see it in Eclectic, but it's not there.

The Eclectic Team doesn't use ProgFreak, so you won't be able to follow the evaluation by any means other than talking to the team members directly.

I'll notify them to pick up the band from the Crossover Team.

Our team only needs two more votes.  Bear with us.  I voted "unsure," initially, so I will revisit this artist.

Thanks Robert, This band should be on here somewhere, and I can't see any other category where it would fit better?

Just thought I'd ask as I was listening to this EP - any news from the (very busy) Eclectic team on this? Thanks!

Not sure where this band will fit, but you might write a little biography if you don't mind - surely this band will be included soon.
