Bio:

Formed in 2002, by guitar players Arnold Nesis and Eran Spira, graduators from “Rimon” – College of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Israel, and “Berklee” in U.S.A.

During last few years the band has done quite an impressive work in Israel - performed on Israel’s top stages, like "Barby Tel-Aviv" (perhaps the most important stage in Israel where artists like Evergrey, Epica, Meshuggah and many more performed), and in the "Yellow Submarine" in Jerusalem and hosted in a few radio shows, including "Met-Al-Metal" (biggest Metal radio show in Israel), and interviewed for "Metalist" Magazine - the biggest magazine for metal in Israel.

2011 released their debut full length (double CD) physical album “Fooled by the Hush” under “Melodic Revolution Records”. 1 CD contains songs of the band, and the other a piece named “24” - – a 24 minute long song, telling the story of 24 hours in a person’s life. The album was reviewed both in Israel and abroad.

Today Capricia are working on their 2nd album, and a tour in both Israel and outside of it.

I hear some progressive tendencies, but not enough for an inclusion on PA. Maybe others will think different?

The 3 songs that where released are indeed on the line. I sent you a PM with the album so you'll hear the rest.

Hm.. sounds progressive enough to me. It's in a kind of accessible prog metal type of vein, sort of like Elysium Theory. I think they would probably do fine in Prog Metal (I'm listening to the song Chaotic now and PM may be the best choice), but they might fit into Crossover as well.

Suggester: would be alright with the band being suggested for Progressive Metal? (i.e. not Experimental/Post Metal or Tech/Extreme Prog Metal)

Beautiful music. And great vocals, but too much Metal. I am afraid that it won't be Prog enough for Prog Metal. I may be wrong though.

Me too, but not hopeful. I've noticed in general, once the ping pong starts, it's all over.

Another very fine project that doesn't fit neatly into any of our subgenres. What a crying shame if this ends up preventing their addition here.
I know that the "If, then..." mentality isn't practised on this site, but in a thread from April for Earthbound Papas ( http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=77381" rel="nofollow - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=77381 ) there was some uncertainty regarding the most appropriate subgenre for them, and ultimately they were added to prog metal despite one member of that team voting 'no' initially. One of the later quotes in that thread was: "If it's Prog and there's a scrap of metal on it we will annex it". Let's hope that if crossover don't want Capricia now, then the same reasoning will apply this time. Smile

Genres has advantages - it's easier to browse through thousands of artists in groups, than through all just in one big group.

It has its negatives too, ping-ponging. It's easy to see negatives and forgot about positives.

Oh yea, I don't really disagree with the genres. I just wish there was less subjectivity in the addition process. It makes it ambiguous and that's why ppl get all pissed off like mr beaverteeth in that other thread. I'm not trying to denigrate what you guys do here, I love the hell outta this site. It could be a lot better tho, if I was king for a day Tongue

I can state here empty phrases, but instead, I'll just say that I'm with you on this one. I don't like ping-ponging as well, even more so when I'm the one (or one of the ones) who caused it, because there are some rules and I can't vote Crossover for something that is not Crossover.
