Hmmm I don´t use or encounter any of these on a regular basis, but one phrase that annoys me a bit, is when someone starts out their review with: What can I say about this album that hasn´t already been said It´s usually about Foxtrot, Close to the Edge, Thick as a Brick and the likes, and even though I know there are tons upon tons written about these albums, I still think it is mind bogglingly lame and unimaginative. Talk about when you played it whilst eating oysters and you had to change your baby at the same time, and suddenly the keyboard solo seemed weirdly appropriate with your mouth full of salty sea snot and hands liquidy brown. Anything is better and more entertaining to me, than throwing in the towel before you´ve climbed over the starting line.... Man cave? "Man Cave" annoys the crap out of me. It basically marginalizes my (and other mens') desire to have a place to be alone for a while and listen to records. It's all a part of the gradual emasculation of our society. Turn "typical" male traits into a joke, as something trite to be ridiculed. It's all over television. Watch any commercial with a husband and wife in it, and the husband is always some doofus who's always trying to get away with naughty stuff like watching football or playing golf, and the wife just smiles and shakes her head in a patronizing way, making it clear that there's no F-ing way he's ever going to do something that selfish and stupid when there's home improvements to be done (or even better, Crafts Fairs to attend!).
