A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

Tough call ...

"Flying Teapot" is a bit less mature than the other too, but still great and more humor-related in my opinion. "Angel's Egg" is the most varied of the trilogy and has some of my favorite Gong stuff on it, while "You" is less humorous and more jam-heavy.

I vote "Angels Egg", but for no good reason!

I would give part 3 the highest rating, but I find myself listening to part 2 much more often.

Flying Teapot for being my introduction and for making the phrase "have a cup of tea" singable.

Tough one... For me, as of today (at least), "You" is the most consistent, so it gets the vote.

If "Witches Song/I Am Your Pussy", the closer on "Flower Teapot" was omitted, i'd probably give it my vote instead. And "Angel's Egg" is also a classic. The whole trilogy is. As are the earlier GONG albums...

Teapot for the "lore," Angel's Egg for the rock, You for the drony psychedelic stuff

overall, voted Angel's because it has more songs that I love, and my favourite Gong song

Angel's Egg. Whole trilogy is fantastic, but the second part has always been a favourite of mine.

The Flying Teapot.
I prefer the funny / folksy Gong to the more spacey repetitive Gong, and Teapot concentrates more on that.

I think Teapot stands out as very memorable, can't help but being impressed by the catchyness of the songs. Should give 'You' some more spins though.

I'd say I enjoy all three about the same but for different reasons. Weird and wonderful but mad and mindless. Good fun.

Really hard but Angels Egg was my first Gong and I loved it. 'You' is still the most revered and should win this, its a bit too polished for me and I like the rawness of the edgy Angels Egg.

At different times they would all get a vote. Recently however 'Flying teapot' has been played more than the others and so gets my vote!

I know that YOU routinely wins these polls, and it never fails to amaze me. I've always found TEAPOT the funniest, whackiest and most exciting of the three!

Whats going on here?  Eh ? Eh?

You always wins these things.   Glad to see Flying Teapot and Angels Egg getting some love too.  They are both wonderful creations and I find it really difficult to pick one so I won't , Electric Cheese if you please.

I may come back and choose one of the non Cheese choices.  When I've had some tea.....

You slightly over Angel's Egg, brilliant albums both of them. Teapot is excellent as well but not among my very favorite Gong albums.

This, except Teapot is one of my favorite Gong albums. I like Egg and You almost the same (they could've been a fine double album) but You was my introduction to Gong and Canterbury in general, so it has some additional sentimental value.Tongue

Yeah, I agree. Flying Teapot has that quite whimsical, eccentric, classic Gong style that is obviously evident on that album and albums that were previous and after. Angel's Egg is a lot more Fusion influenced and, like you said, rockier. You is probably my favourite because it's probably their most atmospheric and jammy album out of the trilogy.

Man, only if You and Angel's Egg was created into a double album. That would be one of the greatest double albums in history. ApproveThumbs Up

You gotta have at least 40 posts, I think. At least that's how it was for me a year ago. Maybe the admins changed it up.

Oh, Thanks.
Well I guess that makes sense.

Anyways.
I am starting to change my mind back to You.
They are all brilliant albums IMO.

I voted for YOU, but these albums do belong together, and when you've had them in your collection a couple of years and heard them in succession - they feel more like the trilogy they were supposed to, than 3 albums released after each other.
Have a cup of tea? Why thank you very much.

I hopped on with You.  Quite few years before I got the Angel's Egg.  Still need to fly around on that teapot someday.  I have been on the fourth volume of the trilogy though.
