There's this show called Metal Evolution on Vh1 Classic. Every episode is about a different type of metal and how it evolved the genre or something like that. But tonight on the season finale they had progressive metal.
They talked about King Crimson, Yes , Genesis, Rush, and so on. Even having interviews with Steve Hackett, Chris squire, Bill Bruford, Rush, and so on.
It's really awesome and I really think you vous should watch.

Derek Shulman had a few moments in the spotlight during episode 5 - Glam Metal! He was pretty bada$$! LOL

I'm really looking forward to the Prog Metal episode which will air in Sweden sometime in March.

The latest episode (aired in Sweden) can be legally streamed online. Not sure if there are any regional limitations that will prevent certain users from watching it, but here goes:

I watched this episode last night. I wish it could've been longer, but whatever. I didn't expect DEP or Mastodon to be interviewed though, which was nice.

There's this display known as Steel Progress on Vh1 Traditional. Every display is about a different form of metal and how it developed the category or something like that. But today on the period finish they had modern metal.
They discussed Master Violet, Yes , Genesis, Hurry, and so on.

What is this modern metal you're referring to? Does it have a specific sub-genre name or was the episode talking about genre development on a broader scale?

Is there a connection to the so called Nu Prog/New Prog that has been widely discribed on Wikipedia an a few other prominent site?
