a  very early norwegian prog band with flutes and a calm sound, very close to Camel and canterburry, the songs have a steady evolution from calm to buissy

This is a short but sweet and Mostly instrumental live recording
the only recording of this band so it seems Clocking in at only
23 minutes 39 seconds

it's Prog-Rock with nice flute, some Great guitar leads and overall good musicianship with some very interesting moments ....
the recordings as rare as gold-dust you wont find it anywhere!

Hades - Hades {Norway, ProgRock 1974} @192kbps

1) - 8-4-7 (4:40)
2) - Gullkrona (7:11)

Interesting band, thanks for the recommendation.

I would support their inclusion in ProgArchives but IMHO they are not Prog Folk.  Given the two samples above account for almost 3/4 of their total 23-minute recorded history, I'd feel comfortable recommending them for Eclectic or Heavy Prog.

Eclectic rejected this artist, so I will ask Heavy to evaluate.

After listening the tracks from You Tube I could understand that Hades was a band somewhere between early Jethro Tull and Osanna. But without Folk or symphonic elements. In great substance... A great Heavy Prog band, sure!

Agi, they've been cleared for heavy for a while and now that I'm trying to add them, I'm having a hard time finding biographical info. Do you know where I can find some?

here is the musicians playing
4) Hades was a Norwegian prog rock group, hailing from the county of Vestfold. Their music has been described as a blend of Cream and Jethro Tull, with a distinct flute that makes up the melody lines together with the occasional strong bluesy guitar licks. Although they only released one vinyl/Mini LP (LP Colours COMLP 007, 1992, originaly recorded live in 1974) on http://www.last.fm/music/Colours" rel="nofollow - Colours records in 1992 they sound remarkingly experienced on this recording. They sang in norwegian. The original vinyl is only in a 1000 ex., and must be quite rare nowadays.

Thomas Karlsen -Guitar, vocals
Karl Øyri -Guitar, vocals
Fredrik Møystad -Flute
Terje Brendsrød -Bass Guitar
Per Eriksen - Drums

Hades

This recording originaly recorded in 1974, but was not released before 1992 at Color record lable

Thomas Karlsen -Gitar, vokal

Karl Øyri -Gitar, vokal

Fredrik Møystad -Fløyte

Terje Brendsrød -Bass

Per Eriksen -Trommer
