two really good bands who are similar, in sound and style, mixing alternative roots with progressive roots, with diffrent outtakes on both, both have a certain ambiens and melancholy, dreamesque quality, i did not take with the rest of Porcupines albums couse then it would be an easy match, and stil with only In Absentia, Deadwing, FoaBP, and the Incident, it leans heavy towards Porcupine Tree, but Frengers, And the Glass Handed Kites, and ...No More Stories Are Told Today, I'm Sorry They Washed Away // No More Stories, The World Is Grey, I'm Tired, Let's Wash Away Wacko... are all three great albums, both have sent me to oblivion of goosebumps and tears many times, seen both acts live and was impressed by both bands, Porcupine send shivers down your spine live, and so does Mew, if you ever see Mew on a concert poster don't hesitate to go, they are amazing.

I like Mew, but, Porcupine Tree by far for me.  HOWEVER Mew would totally destroy Sandslash, given that they would be the same level.  THIS WOULD NOT EVEN BE CLOSE.

Is this poll a joke? Those bands are too different... But my vote goes (without a doubt!) to Porcupine Tree!

Hard to say. Mew have two excellent albums and one boring disappointment, everything by PT in this period is more or less good. Mew it is, just to get the first vote in.

And these bands sound practically identical compared to some polls of the past...

Gavin Harrison is my favorite musician.  I'll have to go with PT.

It's joy to know you, wishing the nicest things always for you, not only today, but all the year through because you are really a joy to know.

I look up, I'm almost blinded

by the warmth of what's inside me

and the taste that's in my soul,

but I'm dead inside as I stand alone...

PT. Mew, while the music is great, the singer annoys me. I mean, Neutral Milk Hotel is one of my favourite bands and I don't like Jeff Mangum, but for some reason I can't get past this one.

PT easily

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
