Canterbury is well represented this time. Interesting that Dave Stewart is featured on three of these records(Khan, Egg, Hatfields).
I must admit i was surprised at Shamal winning the last round. That album was produced by Nick Mason by the way. I think Nick worked with Hillage too on his solo albums. Anyway this is the final poll for E-K then we're off to L-R.
Holdsworth is here twice. Once on his albumShocked and also on that Gong classic Gazeuse! Okay i'll shut my yap now.

I've heard all of these this time.  Definitely Crossings for me. It's a fantabulous album.

Tough as hell!

I'll give it to Khan this time.

Boy howdy is this a difficult one.

But I must give it to Bateless Edge...one of the best albums of recent years IMO.

I'm one of the few people who dislikes Khan. I don't think they're that special, or have aged well.
Voted Egg.

Egg as well for me.  Funny, I never used to care that much about Egg until very recently.

Likewise i forgot to add that a major reason i voted for them is that the album listed clicked with me last Saturday, when i went on another Canterbury marathon.

I used to really like Gazeuse and Space Shanty but haven't been interested in either for a very long

The overwhelming exception being "Percolations Pt 1 and 2" which is incredible

Gazeuse is by far my favorite Gong album. I HATE the Trio set.

Herbie.

That Frogg Cafe one is a doozy, but I appreciate it a lot more than their older albums.

Hatfield and the North - The Rotters' Club. Brilliant and gloriously great album!

Wow, 2 releases with the amazing Allan Holdsworth on guitar.  Have to go with Gong's Gazeuse, since it, along with Jean Luc Ponty's Enigmatic Ocean, was my introduction to his groundsbreaking playing.

Seeing as I currently am on a Mwandishi trip - I'm staying consistent and voting for Crossings. Brilliance from start to finish!
Could have gone for Rotter's Club too, but it doesn't quite reach those same heights for me personally.

Hey your back !  I still can't decide between Khan, Hatfields and Frogg Cafe. I love how Hillage rips it up on that Khan album plus it has such a late sixties vibe to it. Stewart just kills on The Rotters Club while Bateless Edge is one of the best newer albums i have heard.

Went for The Rotters Club finally. It wasn't an easy choice. Hancock has proven to be quite popular in this E-K section of polls.  I still feel that Sextant is my favourite from him.

It maybe because their name made it very hard to refer to them without causing confusion but If have always been among the most under-rated prog bands.  See, It's almost impossible to include their name in a sentence without the sentence looking like it doesn't make sense.

Anyway, unusually among Jazz Rock bands, If are almost equally Jazz and Rock.

Hatfield & the North get my vote

I confess I don't get all of the fuss over Crossings
It's not bad....but nothing special for me

Really tough poll . . .

I have to be in the right mood for Canterbury, and I'm not right now.

So Frogg Cafe!
