Magnificent Eclectic Prog, your Majesty!!! - These guys (and gals) just HAVE to be added - and soon!!

Here is the tube referred to in King Manuel's o.p. embedded, plus a few more that I found.

This final Video shows parts of all the band's three albums:- "The Dark Side Guide", "Bartok's Crisis" and the new album "Schizophilia" (anticipated release July 2012).
One of the characteristics of the band`s songs are the different languages used - even in one song! In this video you will find extracts from:
1. Warum (from "Schizophilia") - German
2. Rumänen (from "Bartok's Crisis") - Croatian/English
3. Asylum (from "Schizophilia") - English/German
4. Waiting for you (from "Bartok's Crisis") - French/English
5. Part IV (from "The Dark Side Guide")- English
6. Phantome Violin-Solo (from "Bartok's Crisis")

I think this band is something rather special. Big smile

King Manuel and Yam Yam, thank you for paying attention to this new band.
If you have more interests on it, I could tell you more about them. There are really fantastic.
But, Yam Yam, you seem to know them some more (you talked about their 3 albums). Do you have some "connections"?

Welcome to progarchives, sky watcher  Hug I hope you enjoy the site, and all it has to offer to the average prog-lover!!
I don't personally have any connections with Eclipse Sol-Air, or indeed any other bands on here - past, present, or future, I wouldn't imagine. I had never even heard of Eclipse Sol-Air until King Manuel posted them in this thread, so a big 'thank you' from me to him for introducing me to their wonderful music. Heart
I spend a lot of time on here looking for new artists to check out, and finding out as much about them as I can, which I then try to share with others on the site via this forum.

Everything I know about Eclipse Sol-Air was obtained from about 20 minutes of searches via google on the Internet just a few days ago.

I sincerely hope that the collabs who monitor this forum will now pass the band on to the appropriate team for evaluation, and that a speedy addition to the archives will follow, because they most definitely belong here!

Anything more you can add to help the team with the writing of a biography for their eventual page on here would be very much appreciated.  Thumbs Up

Well, let me just mention some important dates and facts concerning the band:

2003: Eclipse Sol-Air was born after Philippe has written an ad like “search for musicians in order to build up a revolutionary band”.

Soon, some young mad boys and girls dared to take the challenge by involving themselves in a project called “The Dark Side Guide”.

2005-6: they won the first price on each regional rock-contest they participated in (Alteglofsheim, Villapark, MaxiDSL 2008 ...).

To celebrate all those victories, they made a little slide show and a kind of joke-clip accompanied by their music:

After that, they begun to work on a second album called “Bartok's Crisis”. But this period of time was rather unstable, cause many member changes took place.

2010: the situation has stabilized and they got a manager to drive them forwards.

Big success stories came then up: the biggest web side on prog reviews had added them in their list with a note 12/15:

http://www.babyblaue-seiten.de/album_11960.html" rel="nofollow - http://www.babyblaue-seiten.de/album_11960.html

Another one, did the same with a note 16/20:

http://www.musikansich.de/review.php?id=11112" rel="nofollow - http://www.musikansich.de/review.php?id=11112

And even a japanese site found them:

As well as some good articles in prog online and paper magazines...

2011: they recorded and released “Bartok's Crisis” on an LP disk as well as a CD. They wanted to let the LP cover be drawn by an artist (Anna Kotarska), so that we also enjoy it visually.

That's the one King .. got from his brother ;)

BTW, Philippe also got a gift from his brother Alexandre: “waiting for you” themes were written by Alex (yam yam's video 1 in a short version and 7 in the long one).

You can judge by yourself Alex's talent; here is his interpretation of a rock version of Pachelbel's “Canon in D”:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXyRubH3YuI" rel="nofollow - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXyRubH3YuI

Back to ESA.

A dramatic stuff happened: a drunkard on drive killed Anna Kotarska. That caused much pain all around. And on that occasion the musicians express their feelings by writing a song. The result is shown on yam yam's video 6.

Now, what are the next steps:

  • ESA is working hard on their 3rd album “Schizophilia”. It should come soon (by june or july).

  • They prepare themselves for a big german festival Burg Herzberg

  • they are negotiating to come on stage in the USA, New York city (I've not much information on this; I'll tell as know more)

Schizophilia, the new Eclipse Sol-Air is out. Produced by Eloy's Frank Bornemann it is a bit more focused that the first one and the production is clear and powerful. All in all not a disappointment.

However what is a bit disappointing, I still can't find this great band in the Prog Archives!

This thread was apparently missed a year or so ago by the New Suggestions Team of the time - that's why this band is still not on Progarchives. The guy looking after New Suggestions at the moment though is certainly 'on the ball', and I don't think we need fear this happening again. I'd forgotten all about this suggestion to be totally honest with you, so thanks a lot for 'bumping' the thread today. Thumbs Up

Edit: Some info about the 'Schizophilia' album:

1. Once Upon a Time (7:25)
2. Destiny of Freedom (4:28)

6. Lydian legend (4:28)

Oh my giddy aunt, this is so good! ''Schizophilia'' and ''Bartok's Crisis'' already ordered from Amazon.

A real shame that this suggestion has been overlooked for so long but obviously the band will still need to go through the usual process for addition, which will surely be a formality. As they have a new album just released it would be nice if we could expedite their addition but I'm afraid it might take a little while longer.

Thanks, seventhsojourn, I have send a short mail to the band. Lets hope they assist by supplying the necessary stuff required for the addition.

Sent to us in Crossover for evaluation. You can follow the progress here: http://progfreak.com/Eclipse-Sol-Air-156612.html?path=pa/recent" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Eclipse-Sol-Air-156612.html?path=pa/recent .

Edit: Rob has since listened to the samples, and said that he will add the band to Eclectic's chart for an initial evaluation there. I have thus removed them again from the Crossover chart for now -  they will be re-added if Eclectic's final verdict is a 'move' to Crossover. Smile

Male vocals are really painful Dead female vocals lack power. The music is ok, but Skyclad did it before them.

What's your point caller?

Anyway, recently moved from Eclectic to Metal for their opinion.

And their opinion was 'move' to Crossover, where the band was just recently (and quite swiftly) cleared.  Thumbs Up
