I'd suggest an obscure british band: Time. Their released only one album in 1975. They remind me strongly of the The Yes Album, and Flash. Their album a collector item. Bassist and drummer were former members of Spontaneus Combustion.

I'm just asking, any hope, Time will in the PA? They are clearly progressive rock!

I'll notify the eclectic team. I hear the mentioned Yes flavour, sure, but there is much more going on here. Feels like a second cousin to Topographic Oceans without the huge symphonic sculptures.

I'm pretty sure eclectic are already handling this one. Moris seemed fairly impressed with them three posts back ^. Eclectic team had a bit of a backlog earlier in the year - maybe this is still the case and they just need time (if you'll forgive the pun). Tongue

Okay David, thanks for the heads up. Always a pleasure having you around man. Even if you wear your 'title' on the insideTongue

I'll probably get my backside spanked for saying this, but Eclectic Prog on Progarchives is like a combination of an elite Grand Lodge of The Freemasons Secret Society and the Cygnus X-1 black hole. They don't use progfreak, and few (if any) in the outside world have a clue what goes on in there. One thing's for sure though - anything that DOES get sucked in there never seems to come out again!!

Wow this brings back memories - I had this on vinyl back when I was listening to ELO and ELP on vinyl.

LOL!! - The cover is from an Italian Disco outfit's 1984 album called 'Prime Time'. With so many bands named 'Time' existing over the years, the uploader can be forgiven for getting his/her wires crossed...The actual music is correct for the band we are considering here - but sorry for any confusion caused! Embarrassed

Edit: For the curious amongst us, this is what the 1984 'Time' sounded like (I'm not going to actually embed them here because they are absolutely nothing do with prog!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESIpUXN6s7w" rel="nofollow - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESIpUXN6s7w  & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hB75oapbWoA&feature=related" rel="nofollow - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hB75oapbWoA  LOL

You might need to p.m. one of the Eclectic team members and ask that question.
As of 09/06/2012 they were:
Moris ( http://www.progarchives.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=8868" rel="nofollow - clarke2001 )
Rob ( http://www.progarchives.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=17614" rel="nofollow - Epignosis )
http://www.progarchives.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=19117" rel="nofollow - ProgressiveAttic
Stephen (The Gazzardian) - although my search for this member drew a blank - maybe he changed his username?
Matt ( http://www.progarchives.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=28681" rel="nofollow - thehallway )

Moris and Rob are probably your best bets for any info.

And me! They have been approved for inclusion in Eclectic. I will write a bio up for them this weekend and ask Rob to add them.

Thanks!...and sorry for not including you above - you weren't listed on our Eclectic Prog definition page: http://www.progarchives.com/subgenre.asp?style=42" rel="nofollow - http://www.progarchives.com/subgenre.asp?style=42  so maybe you need to update (or get Rob to do it) the info on there too.

Sorry for having a bit of a 'dig' at the Eclectic team earlier on for dragging their feet with some of these suggestions - I know there have been quite a few presented recently for this sub genre, and that everyone has to fit their contributions to the site around their family and work considerations, but several of the outstanding ones go back a long long time now! Embarrassed

Yeah, I know. We have a considerable backlog. But we need a majority vote for inclusion and it takes time for every member of the team to listen to every band, and since a lot of them are fairly obscure the research required for putting together the bio and discography can be pretty tedious.

I am trying to move things along as quickly as I can since my promotion! Big smile

^  I fully understand. Approve
If you're ever struggling for info about a band you want to add, I've got a fairly good nose for digging up stuff from the Internet - so feel free to send me a p.m. any time, and anything useful I can find about them will be duly forwarded to you. Thumbs Up
