Someone has already started a topic on them a couple of years ago, but I can't see any replies from team members and they're not in the archives. And they have a new album now so i started a new topic.

Anyway, first band from my home country i like. I'm guessing Heavy Prog, but they also have Crossover elements, so I'm not sure

I bought their debut, but their new album is free there ^

Any other info you need should be on their wikipedia page

or on their official Facebook

Heavier than Gazpacho.  But also very varied, with lots of softer parts as well.  I listened to the album this morning after reading this thread and liked it very much!
I think Heavy Prog is most appropriate.  But I guess Crossover would be acceptable...

If you're in the need of new Kiwi bands and you're intrigued by this kind of stuff, I'd check out Looking to Windward ASAP (IIRC they're from Auckland as well too).  http://looktowindward.bandcamp.com/" rel="nofollow - http://looktowindward.bandcamp.com/

But I agree while this stuff is dark, moody, and atmospheric to a degree, this is more suited for Heavy. Awesome find, and I'll bring this to the team.

How embarrassing, they're under evaluation right now already by my own team... just shows you the importance of checking before throwing a band to a team Embarrassed

And added to Heavy Prog they were indeed - almost two years ago now: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=7669" rel="nofollow - http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=7669 . Tremendous band, and yet there are no reviews either for their 2011 self-titled full album (which has just two ratings of 5 stars) or their earlier (2007) EP 'The Half-Light Symphony' (not even any ratings for this one).

I am listening to the EP right now, and it's truly magnificent! I don't write reviews myself, but any Prog Reviewers out there looking for a couple of hours of damn fine music to get their teeth into could do a whole lot worse than heading over to http://battlecircus.bandcamp.com/" rel="nofollow - http:// - battle - circus.bandcamp.com/

Great stuff!  Approve
