Just a curiosity.

Yesterday I was visiting the museum of music instruments in Brussels and there was this "footbass" dated from the late 19th century.
The first thing I though was "hey this is the precursor of the Moog Taurus!" (sure organs had pedals too, but I mean as an isolated foot bass instrument).
 
Apparently they are still built today.
