Has anyone here ever heard the '70s Spanish band MANTRA?

I read a review of them that said they mixed prog, flamenco, and middle-eastern influences, which makes it sound like I need to have this. But there's nothing on youtube or various prog blogs about them.

Are they really worth searching out? (sometimes "concept-bands" can be rad in theory but terrible in practice)

Side note: Maybe this isn't the right section of the forum to be posting this?  Is there a part of the forum specifically for wish-lists or "trying to get this-or-that" discussions?

Thanks!

you could have posted this in forum_topics.asp?FID=44" rel="nofollow - Prog Bands, Artists and Genres Appreciation too, but it doesn't matter ...

never heard of this band by the way, do you have any specific information (band members, song titles) in order to formulate a search more concrete?

Hi Tokyoganglion:

I heard with interest tthe album and still not sure:

1.- Technically, it's not Symphonic
2.- It reminds me a lot of Triana who are already in Symphonic.

So, I'm not sure, I sent the link to the rest of the Symphonic Team and we'll decide after checking our respective opinions.

Thanks for the info, great band

The Andaluz band Mantra (1978 - 1980) and their previously unreleased self titled album have been added to Symphonic.
