Hi, we are a band from Belfast called Mindfox and we have just recorded our first EP.

I would appreciate if you guys on here could take a listen and possibly give some feedback. I use the term prog loosely, but like myself, lovers of prog (should) like anything! Wink

Very pleasant listening with plenty of melody, and lush vocal harmonies, but I'm not so sure that this is progressive rock of the kind that would gain acceptance onto progarchives. On soundcloud this music is classified as 'Baroque 'n' Roll', and this is probaby a reasonably accurate categorisation. By all means feel free to post in 'Suggest New Bands and Artists' forum when the EP is officially released if you want to have a stab at being added to the database - the four songs together constitute over 25 minutes of music, which is enough to make you eligible for evaluation, but your stuff would be pre-evaluated there before being passed on to a sub genre team (which could only ever be Crossover imo), and to my ears, pleasant as this music is, I would be somewhat surprised if it went any further.

This is just my own personal feeling - I am no expert on what is and isn't prog, and I could be completely wrong about this music, so don't take it as criticism in any way. Others may have an entirely different view, so let's wait and see what other reactions are posted here before drawing any conclusions.

I wouldn't say we are a prog band. We are all influenced by prog but also many other genres of music so I just posted with the hope of people on here maybe digging it! Let's hear some feedback!! :)
