Hi, I'm submiting my new band for the archives. Both the keyboard player (Fernando Refay) and me (Rodrigo San Martín) are listed here as solo artists in the Crossover category, so I think the band would fit in there as well (or somewhere in between Symphonic and Prog Metal)

Here's the album:

Band bio:

Vanished from Earth is an argentine progressive rock band formed by Mike Buenaventura Lima on drums, Ignacio Gulich on bass, Fernando Refay on keyboards and Rodrigo San Martín on guitar.

The band was created in July 2011 after a series of successful collaborations between Rodrigo and Fernando. They decided to start a project exploring all their musical influences, mixing 70’s progressive rock ala Yes, modern progressive metal like Dream Theater and latin and jazz-fusion. Mike and Nacho joined to provide a powerful rhythm section and to add their own unique approach to music.

Vanished from Earth’s music is generally complex, usually exploring long multi-themed compositions with lots of key, tempo and time signature changes.

Only three months after it’s first rehearsal the band made it’s debut in “La Plata Prog 2011” festival, Latin America’s biggest prog event, sharing billboard with the likes of Contraluz, Uranian, Fughu, Atempo and Jinetes Negros.

In November 2011 Vanished from Earth performed for the second time, this time in the third edition of the “Close to the Edge Buenos Aires Prog Fest”, sharing stage with William Gray, Laplace and Crisol.

The band then spent their time recording their debut album, which was released in late 2012. The eponymous record offers a new and distinctive sound and carries the intention to take argentine music to the next level. Vocals were provided by Charlie Giardina, of Flamedown fame.

Vanished from Earth is currently doing a national promotional tour, during which they’ll headline important festivals like “La Plata Prog 2012” and the fourth edition of the “Close to the Edge Buenos Aires Prog Fest”.

Sounds like a solid case for either xover or eclectic. I'll take it to the team.

We will process this submission to the best of our abilities.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

You can follow the progress of the evaluation at this link: http://progfreak.com/Vanished-From-Earth-154586.html?path=pa/recent" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Vanished-From-Earth-154586.html?path=pa/recent . So far there has only been one vote cast, but it is a 'yes' (geen circle with a white tick). There are five members in the Crossover team, and you need three of them to vote 'yes' in order to get cleared (and shortly after, added). The 'no' votes, if there are any, will be fairly obvious to spot!  Tongue

Just listened and I loved the symphonic elements but of course too heavy for that category..... it feels like prog metal or crossover - either would suit. Great music - more power to you! Hope it gets added soon for our reviews!

Well I've seen in Progfreak that the 3 necessary positive votes are already there! =D

So I guess I'll have to wait for the add, let me know if I can help somehow!

Yes, too many downloads of the album, which leaves us without a website till next month (or 'till we get a better hosting service, which I'm working on)

Thanks for the add!

As long as you want to host the album for a free download, use one of the splendid free services out there. There are some of those that are fairly decent about it and gives you a few good additional options. http://www.wuala.com/en/pricing/" rel="nofollow - Like this one.

Then just hand out the link on your webpage.
